Dress Code
DRESS CODE
BYE has a standard dress code for all events. Occasionally some clients will request special
dress, or provide us with shirts to wear, in those cases members will be notified as soon as
possible before the event. Members are expected to come prepared as instructed; not adhering to
the dress code can result in a member not being allowed to perform at an event.
Normally members are requested to come to an event in dress code with their hair (and makeup,
if applicable) already done.
BOYS
• HAIR: Neatly styled, off the face in a ponytail if long
• SHIRT: BYE T-Shirt
• PANTS: BLACK dress pants - NO JEANS, HIPSTER TIGHT PANTS OR CARGO PANTS
• SHOES: BLACK DRESS shoes or dance Jazz shoes with plain black socks! (NO BOOTS, SNEAKERS/SPORT SHOES)
GIRLSHAIR: Neatly styled, off the face. 2 Ponytails, 2 braids, French braid and half-up are all suitable. If doing a single pony tail must be high or off to the side. Ribbons and headbands: Black, Gold, White acceptable colors. No glitter, sparkles, sequins. Please bring hairbrushes, combs, hairspray, bobby pins, extra hair ties in case of emergencies
SHIRT: BYE T-Shirt
BOTTOMS: PLAIN BLACK SKIRT - as long as it is not more than two inches above your child's knees you should be fine. We advise common sense - no mini skirts or anything overly tight. Remember - they are on stage and you don't want the audience getting a different kind of show!
NO PLEATHER, LEATHER, OVERLAYS, SPARKLES, SEQUINS OR DESIGNS ON THE SKIRTS. We want a uniform look. Leather and pleather can get shiny under lights. Skater swing style skirts are an easy and comfortable style.
NO LEGGINGS OR CAPRI STYLE PANTS under the skirts. (In cases of leg or foot splints/casts exceptions will be made).
NO BARE SKIN on the legs should show. Girls must wear PLAIN BLACK OPAQUE DANCE TIGHTS. NO stockings.
IF YOU WEAR PANTS
PLAIN BLACK DRESS SLACKS/PANTS
NO Leggings, black jeggings etc - they MUST not be tight or form fitting. Tight pants are not forgiving under the stage lights!!
SHOES: PLAIN BLACK character heels and/or jazz shoes – bring both if you have them.
If you have neither style of shoe - PLAIN BLACK dress flats (no glitter, sparkles sequins, buckles etcetera).
NO BOOTS, BOOTIES, UGGS, OR SNEAKERS/SPORT SHOES.
If you were pants you MUST wear black trouser sock underneath - NO BARE SKIN SHOWING
MAKEUP: Light make-up preferred. Please bring with you for touch-ups.
